I have been asked by a few people, one being an Author for WizzHack (Hamish), and the other a YouTube member!

I thought I would write a post about this, before you read on, you must check out Running Nintendo DS ROM’s/Homebrew - this will show you what you need to run Homebrew.

In this post I am going to be telling you how to put ROM’s and Homebrew applications onto the Nintendo DS, using an M3 DS Simply Card. You will need a Micro SD Card, and some sort of card reader. This will allow you to put ROM’s and Homebrew applications onto the DS. When you buy the M3 DS Simply card, it will come with a small CD, on the CD will contain help documents and the software needed to run ROM’s and Homebrew. This will likely be the out of date, so download the latest Firmware Here.

Once you have downloaded it, you need to drag _system_ and _DS_MENU onto the root of the Micro SD Card. When completed, you now create a folder called ‘Games’ (or whatever you want - it does not matter!) on the root of the Micro SD Card. Now download some ROM’s and stick them in this folder (its wise to create a folder for each ROM you have, for example, if I had Pokemon Pearl - I would create a folder called Pokemon Pearl.)

When you have the games you want, pull out the Micro SD card from the Card Reader, and then insert it into the M3 DS Simply card, then put it into the NDS. Power on. You should be presented with a screen like this:

Now just navigate through the different menus.

Homebrew; This is the same, on the root of the Micro SD Card create a folder called ‘Homebrew’, then download some Applications, and stick them in this folder (I recommend creating a folder for each application, like above).

Some notes and useful links: Make sure the ROM’s are .nds format (extension) and same as the Homebrew Applications (some application might have different extensions, depending on the application.)

NOTE: There are many different cards like the M3 DS Simply, but I have only used the M3 card!
