Well, its been announced, don’t say you didnt want it! Lets all of us rejoice!…..Well, all of us with a Slim and Light PSP. Yup, Sony have announced that the original PSP will NOT support the new update. In my opinion, thats just being a jerk. Everyone who said “Oh, I love Playstation, I’m getting a PSP as soon as its out” and got the original one, seems to have just been spat on by Sony. Whereas those who said “Screw it, I’ll wait for it to be cheap” get a nice little bonus.
Now, I know Skype on a PSP, its not that big of a deal, right? But if the new firmware doesnt support the ‘Fat’ PSP, and all new games are being made on the latest fimware of the time, isnt it just a matter of time before no new games will be playable on the PSP ‘ Fat?
I’m shocked at this really. I dont even have a PSP, but I know people who do have the ‘Fat’ one, and they’re mighty p*ssed.
I’m not into the PSP scene, but could it possibly be that the new firmware will still work on PSPFat, just that it lacks some functionality that eg Skype needs?
Anyway, if there are no technical limitations and Sony are just being jerks, you can trust that the homebrew scene will make a custom version of the new firmware that will work on all hardwares.
