I don’t want to be the only one that doesn’t mention GTA 4, well its finally here for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. There are so many different blog posts/reviews and what-not all over the internet, so I am just going to take the most interesting stuff and turn it into a mini-review-like-post.
I purchased GTA 4 today when I finished my college exam - the reason I didn’t get it before was because I wouldn’t revise. The first thing I noticed was the graphical changes. They have re-done the whole engine, so the graphics, physics and environment has completely changed.
Game Reviews
I’m not going to go into too much detail as there are a lot of reviews out there, heres a list of what different game reviewers gave the game on launch (pretty amazing). These scores were gathered from Wikipedia

GTA 4 Sales
Most news articles I have read are reporting that 55% of the 609,000 copies sold went to the Xbox 360, and the remaining 45% went to the PS3. GTA 4 have sold more copies already than the previous GTA games. Thats an insane number. I am quite surprised that 45% went to PS3 owners, I have always thought that xbox 360 is more popular. Sad to say it, but in the UK, GTA 4 is the fastest selling Xbox 360 game ever. Halo 3 first-day sales were a meer 266,000, nothing compared to the mass sales for GTA 4.

Honestly what is fun about running around and beating people to death getting drunk and doing drugs. There is no fun in the game at all.
Its amazingly fun! You dont have to take drugs, or get drunk. Just drive about and do missions. Also the online play is just amazing!!!
I like these games. Kinda. I don’t like the side of it that envolves killing lots of people for no reason (some people seem to consider it the best part of the game but they need pyschiatrical help). I just like driving round in different cars.
ehmmm…. would u rather they did it in reality?
think about it… isn’t it better for them to vent their pyscopathic thoughts in a game instead of real life…
its the ones that cross that line that need help!!!

GTA IV is the best game out for Xbox 360 and will be for months!
GTA games can get a bit boring after a while. Especially if you complete the missions, you have nothing to do except drive around. And while that’s fun enough, there’s a limit to how many cars you can trash before you get bored.

Although I have to admit that I have Driver 3 which is similar to GTA games and I keep going back to it quite frequently. I don’t necessarily get into it much but I go back to it a lot to just mess around in free ride mode
Oh hell noes! BioShock pwnes! And Saints Row 2 is gonna be much better
I never bothered with the story in any GTA games, I find them fairly shallow and boring, if I game doesnt have a good story then I just cant play it, I just run around creating havoc and mayhem.
Saints Row has a really good story line, loads of cool characters with a long backstory and witty remarks from most. Saints Row 2 is going to be better than GTA4, people who say its gonna be crap seem to forget that the first GTA wasnt perfect the first time around either, and its Volitions fist sandbox shooter game, and they still managed to make it pretty amazing despite a lack of vehicles and the environment being a bit small

Yeah, but I finally understand why the likes of talty and harro always say, for example “GTA4 will be much better than Saints Row”, because GTA4 is out after Saints Row. So Rockstar can look at SR and see what people don’t like about it. And Volition will do the same to GTA4, every one of these games nowadays is just an improvement on the last, so SR2 will probably be better than GTA4. And then a few months down the line we’ll all be talking about how GTA5 is going to destroy SR2.
It’ll just keep going on like that, pointlessly repeatative, but still, as long as I get a rocket launcher, I’m happy
