Well, its been a long week for me and sadly I haven’t had a chance to update the blog. Heres whats been going on:

Exam
Most people know by now that I had an exam today (Friday 2nd of May) and it all went fine (I hope). I was expecting it to be slightly harder than it was, but we’ll see. I am allowed a resit, so if I do fail the exam ill get a second chance. The preparation up to the exam kinda stopped me using the internet as much as I wanted, I haven’t looked at my RSS Feeds all week - I have 1786 + to get through, and also I haven’t replied to all emails (sorry).

I have had a lot of questions about this, and sadly I haven’t answered all of them. When I first started to restore the forums, it was going well. I found a great tutrioal on how to restore SMF forums to a different host. I did everything it said and sadly it went wrong. I managed to get all the forums back, the posts are fine, everything is fine apart from posting.

When I tried to post, it came up with an error message:

Database Error: Duplicate entry ‘0′ for key 1
File: /home/content/n/e/i/neilgreenhorn/html/forums/Sources/Subs-Post.php
Line: 1535

So I wrote a post on the SMF Forums, but didnt really get a good reply…so I gave up from there really….

Project Tube and Project Picture
Ever since I started getting into computing on the internet and joining forums, I have always wanted to make my own online community (a successful one). I have come up with two projects I am hopefully going to complete, I have not set a time limit and these projects but we will see.

I dont really want to give away any information about the projects as I think there great ideas, but I am going to tell you that I am hand coding them both. There both going to be similar to social networks, but with a twist. The reason I have decided to code the whole thing myself is its going to be a great learning experience for me, and test my skills.
