Hey, well today after watching some of Chris Pirillo’s videos, I thought to my self, i need a screen saver! My computer is sometimes on for days on end, I think I have had it on for about 2 weeks now! The point being that my laptop would look allot nicer with a
screensaver!

So that’s when i stumbled across ScreensPro, ScreensPro is free software that allows you to download and apply different screensavers! The software it self is very user friendly and it easy to navigate around, you will need to set um an account on the ScreensPro website in order to use the software, but account sign up is free, so why not? Like many websites you will have to confirm your account, however I ran into a few problems doing this, as my email client can’t show html content, I emailed then about the problem and they responded supper fast, and sorted it out!

All in all, this software is very good and I would recommend using it, I rate this software 4 out of 5!

Thank you for reading,

Brian

This is an amazing website, really!

I couldn’t believe it when I got it to work! Heres a brief description (don’t worry I will expand on it). LogMeIn allows you to connect to your computer through the internet, I have a windows laptop, and a iMac. You install the software for both operating systems, and when I take my Windows Laptop to college, I can connect through logmein to my iMac and use the iMac Desktop (controlling it in real-time).

When I installed the program on both computers, it prompt me to create an account and enter it into the program, I did so and logged into www.logmein.com and it would show my computers;

NEIL-GREENHORN is my laptop (look at image above), when I click on imac, it will connect to my imac, and ask for my the login details. Once I have entered them, I can control the screen of my imac, which is really amazing. A little lag, but that is expected when I am on a rubbish internet connection.

Check it out, and see what you think, heres a little video of what its like:

Thanks,

Hey Guys,Most people know that I have upgraded to Apples new operating system Leopard, well I am a Firefox fan, as it does a lot of things I like, especially the plugins that are available! On the new Safari that comes standard with Leopard, its fast and amazing!

My bookmarks are strange, I have many different folders with 10 - 20 bookmarks in each, I regularly click on ‘Open in Tabs’, when I try and open 10 - 20 bookmarks in firefox, it slows right down and have a 30 - 40 second delay! With safari its so fast, and doesn’t have a delay at all!

The webpages look better than ever, the rendering for images that Safari has its just so nice, I will be doing a comparison between Firefox and Safari later in the month. Also I have noticed that Safari loads webpages a lot faster than Opera and Firefox, I dont know how this can be, but its true!

Stay tuned for some nice little posts about Safaris features,

Thanks,

WizzKid

The image “http://portableapps.com/themes/portableapps2/images/portable_apps_logo.png” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

This website is great, and full of programs. PortableApps supply applications for your USB Pen Drive, there are loads of different applications you can run directly from your USB Pen Drive, you may want to do this is you are on a public computer, maybe they only have Internet Explorer, but you can all your bookmarks and firefox, simply - just plug in your USB Pen Drive and load it up.

Some of my favorite applications:

Check them out,

I finally did it,

I got leopard a few days ago, but just installed it (didn’t have much time during the week). Went really smoothly and took 45 minutes, I didn’t do a full restore like I was planning, as I have 15GB of music and all my web design projects, ok I know I could of backed up everything, but it would have taken ages - I as so eager to see the new operating system.

Once everything was done, restarted etc…it was time to see what new features Apple have included, I didn’t want to read to much reviews etc, as I wanted to find out what I could on my own first. Its amazing.

The thing I noticed first was the speed, its really sped up my iMac when I open applications and have 5 - 10 applications running at the same time. Another thing is the dock, very nice - there are programs that allow you to customise the dock, but I love it:

Click to increase size.

As you can see its very sleek and neat.

The finder was another thing I was looking forward to, its great! The cover flow feature really does work nicely, it seems to be slightly slow, and I don’t think its a ram problem (I have 3GB). So we will see, maybe a software update will fix that. As you might know, if you are in a network with a Windows Computer, the icon for a Windows Machine will be the blue screen of death - some people at apple must have a sense of humor!

I will be reviewing different parts on Leopard through the up and coming months,

Stay tuned!
